American Accounting Association (AAA)
The AAA invites you to the 2018 Auditing Section Midyear Meeting. Register soon, because the next meeting is scheduled for January 11th to 13th at the Hilton in Portland. This meeting will focus on educating professionals on ethical practices of audit, attestation, and assurance. There will be opportunities to hear from the industry leaders, network with peers, and participate in workshops.

American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
Accountants of all levels are invited to attend the AICPA Tax School this winter in Beaverton. Week 1 (January 8th to 12th) is for those new to accounting and will focus on establishing and honing core skills. Week 2 (January 22nd to 26th) is for those with 2 to 4 years of experience and will focus on establishing a wider variety of duties and pursuing supervisory roles within the field. This is a great opportunity for hands on learning and peer networking.
Washington Association of Accounting & Tax Professionals
WAATP has been busy planning a wide range of 2018 events for a wide range of accountants. Become a member and attend your local chapter meeting. Then collaborate with members of all chapters at the Leadership Conference May 17th to 19th in Tacoma. This casual and informative event is designed for peer networking, leadership training, and updating your industry success toolkit. Your WAATP chapter will pay for many of the costs, so make sure your membership is current!
Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (WSCPA)
Get prepared for the 2018 tax season by attending the WSCPA 2017 Federal Tax Update. Certified public accountants and future accountants, as well as private practice tax staff are all invited to attend this one day event on January 8th in Bellevue. The course will cover both tax preparation for both individuals and businesses, legislative updates and recent Supreme Court and Internal Revenue decisions. This event is known for being both highly informative and incredibly fun! If you are unable make it in person on the 8th, it will be held again via webcast on January 15th and 29th.
The Insurance Accounting and Systems Organization (IASA)
If you are in insurance accounting, the IASA Pacific Northwest Chapter Fall Annual Conference is around the corner for 2017, so you have time to plan your attendance at the 2018 event. These one day annual conferences are excellent opportunities for learning the latest developments in your field and networking with local peers from your region.
