The Northeast is a popular U.S. region for accounting conferences in nine Atlantic Coast states from Maine to Pennsylvania. Contributing 23 percent of America’s GDP, the Northeast has two of Investopedia’s “Top 10 Cities for Finance,” Boston and New York. The Fortune 500 also lists 113 Northeast companies, including Hartford Financial, Priceline, Raytheon, Voya, and MasterCard. Attending accounting conferences in the Northeast will give you insights from industry leaders and expand your network for potential promotions.
Beg your boss to send you to one of the following Northeast conferences for accounting in 2018.
1. AAA Government and Nonprofit Section Meeting: Providence, RI
March 9-10, 2018
At the Renaissance Providence Downtown, the American Accounting Association’s Government and Nonprofit Section will hold its 2018 meeting in early Spring. Billing AAA members $495, the two-day Northeast conference will share valuable public accounting strategies in KPMG-sponsored sessions that qualify for NASBA recertification. After a welcome speech from president-elect Marc Rubin, the packed agenda includes a research roundtable, networking lunch, and field trip to the Rhode Island State House.
2. HRMA 18th Annual Healthcare Conference: Uncasville, CT
May 22-24, 2018

Over 450 attendees from New England are expected to earn CPE credits while learning new accounting strategies in medical practice. Costing $450 until April, the three-day event will also feature a golf tournament, poster competition, opening address from Merrill Lynch, and closing CEO panel.
3. Accounting & Finance Show New York: New York, NY
July 11-12, 2018
For free, Terrapinn Holdings Ltd. will present the 2018 Accounting & Finance Show New York at the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center to over 500,000 business advisory professionals this summer. With 100 CPE credits up for grabs, the two-day conference for accountants will integrate live demos from solutions providers like Drake Software and Intuit. Planned by Aidan Brain, the agenda also features the Finance Directors Summit, Exhibit Hall, and Keynote Address by Thomson Reuters execs.
4. Accountex USA Technology Conference: Boston, MA

Featuring a 15,000-square-foot expo floor for 100+ vendors, it’s declared the United States’ largest independent conference dedicated to cutting-edge digital accounting solutions. Previously signing big-name speakers like Daymond John of FUBU, the event will shape a three-day schedule of over 50 breakout sessions for a maximum of 25 CPE credits.
5. International Conference on Finance and Accounting: New York, NY
October 8-9, 2018
Celebrating its 20th year, the International Conference on Finance and Accounting is sponsored by WASET to bring research scholars together in October at Hotel Pennsylvania on New York’s Seventh Avenue. Unlike some Northeast conferences for accountants, this two-day meeting focuses on discussing the latest empirical findings on economic markets to boost FP&A practice. For the Early Bird price of 450 €, the event will include a keynote talk from Dr. Armando Gomez and ICFA Doctoral Consortium.
Justifying the cost of accounting conferences isn’t hard because they allow you to develop fresh strategies, meet new colleagues, find tech solutions you’re unaware of, and get inspired by your industry idols. New England and Mid-Atlantic residents won’t even have to travel far for these five conferences for accountants in the Northeast in 2018.
