The American Accounting Association (AAA) will sponsor an educational conference in 2018 that centers on “how accounting research and education advance the public interest [PI].” Current doctoral students in accounting and recent graduates are invited to participate and written submissions are welcome. During the event, participants will collaborate with accounting PI colleagues and have opportunities to present research papers and discuss the research of others.
American Accounting Association Ohio Region Meeting

April 26-28, 2018
AAA will present the 59th annual meeting of its Ohio regional members in a three-day event. The occasion represents the fourth time a doctoral consortium will take place during the meeting. Featured speakers will be Prof. Cathy J. Scott of Navarro College and Prof. Marc Rubin of Miami University of Ohio. Professional accountants, educators and accounting doctoral students are invited to submit papers for inclusion. Qualifying papers will be considered for a number of prestigious educational awards.

The studies of accounting and macroeconomics come together in the 2018 CARE Conference, sponsored by the University of Notre Dame’s Center for Accounting Research and Education (CARE). According to the CARE website, participants will learn about “key issues at the intersection of macroeconomics and accounting.” Scheduled speakers for the 2018 CARE Conference include a number of prominent accounting practitioners and academics. Topics to be discussed include wealth management; understanding risks, both systemic and systematic; household finance; forecasting and measuring macroeconomic activity and other matters related to the fields of macroeconomics and accounting.

More than 800 accounting peers and industry leaders are expected to attend the annual gathering of The Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business. Sponsored by the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants), the particular track of the 2018 conference is Strategy and Competitive Analysis. More than 65 different job-relevant sessions will be scheduled providing a customized learning experience for each participant. Attendees can join in more than a dozen networking events and earn valuable CPE credits approved by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.
